Meet Delic

As advertised, on November 6th and 7th... just one day past Guy Fawkes day... the Tek-Gnostics away-team will be bivouacking in Las Vegas, Nevada at the 2021 Meet Delic conference. Billed as the Premier Psychedelic Wellness Event, Meet Delic promises to explore the intersection of psychedelic business, wellness and the industry's future... a grand and profound proclamation.

Just one week from the event, my guru and personal attorney... Agent 87 and I are procuring our provisions, packing our bags, updating our last will and testament... and otherwise readying ourselves for the epic, 12 hour drive through the high desert of Northeastern California and Western Nevada. Not satisfied with the pulsing, main artery of the American West... Interstate 5... team tek-gnostics will instead travel East, toward the Black Rock Desert... famous for the flamboyant Burning-man Festival... then South, beyond Silver Springs, Stagecoach, Reno, Tonopah, west of the infamous Area 51... through Ambrosia Valley, Mercury, Indian Springs... to the very heart of American vice and corruption... Las Vegas, Nevada.

Speaking of Area 51... the event is being held at the immersive, entertainment and events complex, nefariously known as Area 15. The huge, multi-story warehouse contains a wide variety of exhibits and activities, ranging from bars, distilleries, psychedelic installations and immersive art exhibits that challenge your sense of reason. This complex infers a direct lineage from the 90's Rave Scene, where psychedelia blossomed in abandoned warehouse venues.

We approach this event, with the eye of the archaeologist, examining the unbroken thread of the rise of western psychedelia, from its 1940's inception at Sandoz Laboratories, through the psychedelic 60's... the Rave 90's... to the modern "Psychedelic Diaspora" of the Ayahuascaros, and Curanderos of Amazonia. For it is our contention that the rise of western psychedelia is no accident... that psychedelia has its own agenda.

Having spent a good deal of time investigating the intersection of psychedelia and high strangeness... team tek-gnostics is well-equipped to bring you an accurate, informed, synchro-mystic take on the events unfolding at Meet Delic. We will endeavor to seek out the deeper, archetypical significance... beyond the glitz and glamour of Sin City... beyond the immediacy of an increasingly commercialized, contemporary psychedelic scene.

Through our combined, psychotropic experience... we will take a glimpse at the news beyond the news, to "what is really going on."

As this "savage journey to the heart of the American Dream" unfolds... and in our usual, anthropologic and ethnographic fashion... we will be posting reports from the field, utilizing the social-media platforms at our disposal, such as Agent 87's Synchrodelic Atmosphere... here at the Tek-Gnostics weblog... and through Jack Heart's Instagram feed. Stay tuned, intrepid travelers of the High and the Strange... for some sirius shit will undoubtedly go down...

"And that, I think, was the handle... that sense of inevitable victory over the forces of Old and Evil. Not in any mean or military sense; we didn't need that. Our energy would simply PREVAIL. There was no point in fighting... on our side or theirs. We had all the momentum; we were riding the crest of a high and beautiful wave...

So now, (decades) later, you can go up on a steep hill in Las Vegas and look West, and with the right kind of eyes you can almost see the high water mark... that place where the wave finally broke, and rolled back."
