Nobody for President Part 2 – Revolution! (updated)

In part one of this Huge yet deplorable political rant… we made a half-Sirius pitch for the now-obvious candidate of choice… NOBODY. We pointed out that of all the candidates… Democrat & Green… Republican & Libertarian… Nobody has all the answers! Nobody keeps her election promises. Nobody is a candidate we can count on! Nobody listens to your concerns. Nobody tells the truth. Nobody will lower your taxes. Nobody will defend your unalienable rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. And last but certainly not least… Nobody makes apple pie better than Mom!

As we close in on Election Day, the campaign… indeed the entire political process… continues to become more surreal. We should not be surprised that “the Donald” is the obvious outcome of the reality-show, violently gluttonous, Instagramic culture that is transforming our planet’s infosphere. Nor should we be surprised that what is left of the political establishment, left & right, would rally around Hillary… the only traditional candidate left standing. In times like these, the idea of voting for “none of the above” for President does not seem to be that crazy of a response to our socio-political surrealism.

Rumors of Russian Hackers disrupting the US political process, utilizing surrogate players like Wikileaks… denial of service attacks, crippling the Eastern Seaboard’s connectivity… the resulting rekindled debate over “off shoring” (domestic business operations and jobs going Overseas) by US-based multinational corporations… all these disruptive influences underscore the fact that we appear to be rapidly moving into an era that was prophesized by the dystopian cyberpunk genre, ala: William Gibson.

Welcome to the future, chump... the revolution has already begun.

It is worth commenting on the way our national pop-media has characterized the rise of the “Conspiracy Culture” within this election cycle as “Alt Right” and essentially “Wingnut.” As we all know, the so-called conspiracy culture (CC) comes in all stripes… left, right and in the middle… from ranting radical to articulate brilliance. What the press is missing in their characterization of the CC, is the common thread of… beyond rectifying a dysfunctional government… a sincere desire to get to the bottom of the bureaucratic deception… to get to the truth.  

In the upcoming election… it is critically important that we all get our head straight… get clear on the importance of the choices we make at the polling booth. Let us proceed with the knowledge that in turbulent times… those with cooler heads will prevail. So in these techno-political times we find ourselves in… a final piece of advice from that great futurist: R Buckminster Fuller: DARE TO BE NAIVE!

As we had concluded in part one of this series… “Flawed as the process is” ...don't sit on your hands at home on Election Day. Participate in what is left of the American democratic process… lord knows the Russian hackers are! The system ain’t rigged in the way the Donald is insinuating… it will only be rigged if we don’t exercise our right (and responsibility) to vote. It will only be rigged if we let voter suppression tactics stop us.

Have the naiveté to go to the polling booth and cast your ballot! Don't believe the polls! Vote your heart. Vote your conscience. Vote on issues that matter to you. Vote for conventional Clinton or fascist Trump… if that is what you truly believe. If you must, write in “none of the above.” A vote for nobody is still a vote. A write-in vote for nobody is far more of an authentic and powerful statement than not bothering to vote at all. And remember... Love trumps Hate!
